"The beginning investigator will find no better guide to professional
inquiry than Robert A. Goerman's WEIRD HAPPENS Investigator Handbook. Meticulous in its organization, Goerman
offers numerous checklists that will serve well to advise the beginner -- and to remind the more experienced investigator
-- how to conduct an effective interview and how to amass meaningful research." Brad Steiger, author Real Ghosts, Restless Spirits and
Haunted Places and 162 other books on the paranormal and weird
"Goerman stands out as a rare mediator between the skeptics and
the believers. While respectfully acknowledging the genuine strangeness of weird experiences, he does what few skeptics take
the trouble to do: Encourages investigators with effective tools for doing good science and collecting real data that will
stand up to scrutiny." Brian Dunning
"In WEIRD HAPPENS, Robert Goerman has provided
an invaluable and indispensable tool for the budding paranomal investigator. Would that many popular, published authors had
read this book before writing anything! It would have raised the level of discourse in this field by a huge margin." David F. Godwin, Managing Editor, FATE
Every school and public library deserves the WEIRD HAPPENS
Investigator Handbook. This is an authoritative guide for novice and veteran alike. Many specific problems of exploring
the unknown and unexplained are covered in detail: conducting thorough research with skeptical
objectivity; the tools of the trade; recording testimony; the importance of corroborating documentary evidence; and collecting
physical proof. There is expert advice on the fundamentals of investigation, professionalism, and dealing with the
media. The emphasis is on proven and practical techniques. Good hunting!
